US TRIP BEGINS!

Yeah….we’re here!  Arrived in Boston Massachusetts, Sunday lunchtime. Journey went well timing-wise, but eventful flight…turbulence, baby crying close to us for most of the six and half-hour journey and a medical emergency on board! Fortunately, a doctor was also on board and he proved a real-life hero in assisting the ‘in-flight patient’ who we felt really sorry for.

We’re now established in the beautiful Concord Colonial Inn and have just visited our first school, the impressive Gardner Middle School. 200 6th graders packed into the library to listen to me go on for an hour and a half about me, my background and, of course, my books. The students were more than impressive! They seemed to hang on every word and were more than keen to listen to the English accent! We’re back tomorrow (Wed) to do a book-signing.  We’ll report what happens…watch this space!  Pics to follow!  A BIG ‘thank you’ to Ms Lori Sweet for looking after us so well. I suspect we will be seeing much more of  Gardner MS in the future.

FAB FEEDBACK!

Finally on holiday!

Now that I’m officially on holiday, I thought it would be a good idea to let some of my fans have their say about me and my books. Below are some of the e-mails, reviews and general feedback that come my way daily…it’s what drives me on and keeps me writing. So ‘thank you’ to all of you out there who read my books and take the trouble to get in touch.

ABBY – YEAR 3 FALKLANDS PRIMARY

My favourite book is Mokee Joe – Doomsday Trail, because I like all of the action that happens in it. My favourite part of the book is when Hudson contacts Professor Stokeham in a very clever sum. My favourite character is Hudson, because I like my heroes and I like all the little differences he has, for example, his missing belly button and his supersensitive hearing. I’m now reading the fifth Mokee Joe book – Mokee Joe Swamp Warrior and I’m very much looking forward to reading book number six.

RACHEL – BOLSOVER C OF E

Hi…I’m Rachel and you recently came to my school and you were fantastic, and so was your wife. I like how you thought about your book and made it up from parts of your real life, like the time when you said ‘I’m turning into Mokee Joe!

IZZY – HASLAND JUNIORS

Thank you so much for coming to Hasland Juniors. I bought the book Scabbajack. I’m at the point where Zak is going back to the mill on Black Friday. My mum can’t get me off the book…I read it everyday. I’ll e-mail you when I’ve fully read the book, but I’ll be sad to end it.

ELLIE

Hi Pete. Since you came to our school I have already read Scabbajack. It was amazing and I loved it.

CHARLOTTE

Hi Pete. I have just finished Mokee Joe is Coming! It was great! I liked the end when Hudson got stuck to the floor. Does Mokee Joe get out of prison? I know what you’re going to say…’You’ll have to read the next book to find out!’  From your biggest fan…Charlotte.

MIE – ANSTON PARK JUNIORS

After your visit I bought Scabbajack and was so happy I got it signed. I read it all in one day! I couldn’t put it down. I hope you write more historical fact based books. Thanks for the great read…from Mie…the girl in the red boots.

JACK – SHARLEY PARK SCHOOL

Hi Peter…I just wanted to say how great your books are.

ZARA – BEECH HILL PRIMARY SCHOOL

I’m really enjoying Bonebreaker.  Thank you for signing my book and coming to Beech Hill Primary. I am looking forward to you coming back next year.

ALEXANDRIA – SHARLEY PARK SCHOOL

Hi Peter. I’ve been reading Mokee Joe is Coming! The cliff-hangers are amazing!! Thank you for coming to our school. Your books have taught me much about writing – especially some great adjectives and synonyms. Thanks.

These are just a small selection from a lot of e-mails and feedback received on a daily basis. Thanks again and keep in touch. Have a great Easter and see you all again soon.

Pete
