It’s been the most A-mazing term!

From the Isle of Man…to Seaton Sluice…to Liverpool…to Essex…to Yarm…and to countless schools in Chesterfield, we have had a wonderful time enthusing with so many welcoming pupils and staff. Don’t worry too much about what you see on the news or read in the newspapers (all doom and gloom!)…there really are a lot of lovely people out there! We are lucky enough to meet up with them almost every day.

Keep on reading...and I'll keep on writing!

I will never forget being in Yarm,  up in the early hours finishing the third redraft of the new book, Mokee Joe : Mutant Resurrection. I finished around 5am and visited a lovely school at 9am. I must have looked like the boy on the cover of Scabbajack...a wide-eyed zombie! But it was worth it. Oakdene Primary was brilliant and I’m confident the new MJ book be the best received of any of my books so far…the cover alone makes it a real ‘eye-popper’…but it’s top-secret at the moment. It will be unveiled for the first time on the 10th January in Harlem, New York at the famous Apollo Theatre (Theater?).  My other new book, Ten O’ Clock Caller, also has an amazing cover. I am sooooooo… lucky having the famous artist, Paul Bryn Davies working with me. And Simon, my talented son, has created some stunning black and white illustrations on the inside of the books.

I’ve just heard that the new Mokee Joe book will be ready on the 16th December. We are printing 4000 special edition copies with a fabulous flap cover. 1 500 books will go direct to New York. The remaining 2 500 will come to me at my home base. I can’t wait to see them…I’m so excited!

Oh well…I’d better get on with some Christmas shopping. Kath is giving me some fierce looks!!!
