Paul Davies and Pete Signing at Madginford Juniors

The Kent schools were fantastic!

Started the week with a great school close to Maidstone – Roseacre Juniors – they provided a huge and very enthusiastic audience of 400 pupils. The Bonebreaker Presentation went down a ‘blast’ and Kath and I really enjoyed ourselves there.

The next day was spent at Bickley Park Boy’s School with another totally absorbed audience…the boys were great. You should have seen some of them dressing up as girls in helping me bring the book to life on stage!

Another ‘brill’ school followed back in Maidstone - Madginford Juniors. Wow! What an audience! They went really crazy for the nightmare world of my imagination and the subsequent booksigning seemed to go on forever. Paul Davies, my cover artist, came over and joined in at the signing (see pic). Paul is such a good bloke and loved meeting up with his army of fans.

Final school of the week was Beechwood Sacred Heart RC Prep School close to Tonbridge Wells. Another army of loyal fans were completely engrossed by the Bonebreaker story. I signed a whole load of books for them the next day and they were so appreciative!

All in all, a wonderful week in Kent. As Pa Larkin would have said….’PERFICK!!’

Kath and I are very excited about our return to four top schools in Kent.

These schools are about to get ‘blitzed’ with the Bonebreaker trilogy and introduced to the new book, Scabbajack.

We will keep you posted and updated as the week progresses…watch this space!

5* Chapel Lodge in the Fens

5* Chapel Lodge in the Fens

It’s so good to be back!

Last Monday saw my wife and myself back on the road heading down the A1 and the A17 to the wild and atmospheric landscape of the Fens…one of my favourite locations and the inspiration for my best-selling scary novel – Bonebreaker. We stayed at two locations, the first a gorgeous little annexe to the Kenilworth Smallholding in Walton Highway, and the second, our favourite ’5-star’ accommodation in Suzanne Scrimshaw’s Chapel Lodge over at Parson’s Drove…aren’t the names wonderful? Sounds like the location for a  Clint Eastwood western!

Our first school visit was to Peckover Primary school where we unleashed Mokee Joe.  The pupils and staff were great and entered fully into the spirit of the performance; the atmosphere during the book-signing the next day was ‘electric’. Two more schools followed quickly in succession, Leverington Community Primary School and Ramnoth Road Juniors – both equally as amazing as the first school.

We made so many new friends over our first week back and Kath and I would like to express a big ‘thank you’  to everyone concerned. All three schools have already asked us to return to perform our Bonebreaker presentation.

Well…they asked for it!!!
