We’ve just finished off a great week on the Isle of Wight with great school visits to Solent Middle School, St John’s Primary School and last, but not least, Sandham Middle School. The pupils went crazy for the new Scabbajack book and we’re getting rave reviews (see some of the comments on this blog).
Last Saturday, we capped a great term with a special book-signing in the Newport branch of Waterstones. Paul, the manager, and his team put out a great display of all my books and made us countless cups of coffee as we signed and chatted to customers throughout the morning – a lovely way to round things off!
And now we’re staying on the island on a rare weeks holiday! Brilliant! Here I am in a pic with a big ‘holiday smile’ on my face drinking a mug of tea in Sandown.
It’s time now to shut up shop for a while and get down to some serious writing. The fourth Mokee Joe book is taking shape in my head and I need to get on with it. I’ve just heard that I’ve been invited back to the US for a whole month (May) next year and they are desperate for me to finish the book – as are all my countless MJ fans over here! So no more posts on my blog until September!
To all our fans out there…have a great ’spooky summer, keep on reading and writing…and always remember…nowhere is safe!
See you in September…
